What's the difference between the MemoryVault Box™ Pro and the original?

The Pro jumps from 5MP to 22MP resolution. It also adds support for 126, 110, and Super8 film, which the original MemoryVault Box can't scan. Everything else — the no-computer, SD-card-based workflow — stays exactly as simple as before.

What film formats does it support?

The MemoryVault Box™ Pro scans 135 (35mm) film, 126 film, 110 film, Super8 film, monochrome negatives, and slides.

What resolution does it scan at / What's the DPI?

The MemoryVault Box™ Pro scans at 22MP. In DPI terms, that's roughly 3,100-3,500 DPI natively — sharp enough to pick up fine detail on negatives and slides, including faces, textures, and detail that lower-resolution scanners often lose.

Do I need a computer to use The MemoryVault Box?

No. The MemoryVault Box™ Pro works completely independently with a built-in 2.4" LCD screen. You can see your scanned photos immediately without connecting to any computer. However, if you want to transfer files to your computer later, you can use the included USB cable.

How long does it take to scan each photo?

Each photo takes approximately 3 seconds to scan. You'll see the image appear on the built-in screen instantly, and it automatically saves to your SD card. Most people can scan 50-100 slides in an hour while watching TV or relaxing.

Can I share the digital files easily?

Yes. Scanned photos save as standard JPEG files on your SD card. You can transfer them to your computer using the included USB cable, text them to family, email them, upload to social media, or use them to create photo books. The files work with any device or photo service.

Will this work with very old or faded film?

Yes. The MemoryVault Box™ Pro has built-in auto-rescue technology with backlight compensation and automatic color correction specifically designed for aged, faded film. Even slides from the 1970s-80s that look too dark or yellowed can be salvaged. You'll be surprised how well old film comes back.

Can it scan printed photographs?

The MemoryVault Box™ Pro is primarily designed for scanning negatives and slides. However, it can also scan printed photos as long as they fit within the frame dimensions!

  • 135 (35mm) film: 36mm × 24mm

  • 126 film: 27mm × 27mm (square format)

  • 110 film: 17mm × 13mm

  • Super8 film: 4.01mm × 5.79mm

Does it come with built-in storage, or do I need an SD card?

All scans save as JPEG files, directly to your SD card. It doesn't have internal memory.

Can I see the photos on my TV?

Yes. The MemoryVault Box™ Pro includes an AV cable that allows you to connect it to a TV. This is great for viewing scanned photos with family or previewing your scanning work on a larger screen.

Will this damage my original slides or film?

No. The scanning process is completely non-invasive. Your film simply passes through a light source and sensor—nothing touches or alters the original. We recommend using the included cleaning brush to remove dust before scanning for the best results.

Is it compatible with Mac / Windows?

Yes absolutely! All scans are saved as standard JPEG files which work perfectly on both Mac and Windows computers straight away with no special software required. You can transfer files to your Mac or Windows PC in two easy ways:

  1. Remove the SD card and insert it directly into your computer's SD card slot

  2. Keep the SD card in the device, connect via USB, select USB MSDC on the device, and it appears on your computer just like a USB drive — easy to drag and drop your files across!

What's your return policy?

We offer a 90-day money-back guarantee. If The MemoryVault Box™ Pro doesn't work for you or your film for any reason, return it within 90 days for a full refund. No questions asked.
